established in 1913 swanndri's merino wool fabric is so closely woven/felted it's waterproof. they're a favorite of Ray Mears and lots of outdoor folk they're just about the best thing to come out of new zealand. the bush shirt is the vintage bit of kit, warm, water resitant and with no zips, draw cords, toggle or verlcro to go wrong it's an amazing bit of kit

A clever little house by Danish XYZ: ground floor living space with a sleeping platform in the "loft" - the book shelves in the joists are amazing and there's space for a handful of friends to stay too.

an amazing stair in a tiny cottage and a clever skylight (and i dont like skylights)

In the architects words:

The project represents a complete refurbishment of an old 2-storey fisherman´s cottage situated on a beautiful plot overviewing and old fisherman´s village and the sea. The exterior architecture had to be more or less recreated due to local restrictions, thus the project focuses on adding light and spatiality to the interior. This is done by introducing a sculptural staircase that opens up a view to the sky and creates a spatial connection between the 2 floors.

using small spaces well - that modern architectural challenge of the rabbit warren... this apartment does it well from i29 Interior Architects who seem to do a lot of clever apartments.

bookcase-meets-stair: not a new idea but this one is very compact (looks like it takes up about 2 sq m on the ground/first floor) and nicely done in timber and steel. From Wild Rabbits (my new favorite name for a practice) via the one and only Stair Porn.
